InterVarsity's flagship missions conference will still be called Urbana, but in 2006 it won't be held there.

InterVarsity today announced officially that the Urbana Student Mission Convention will be held in St. Louis next time around (a little over two years from now, just after Christmas 2006). Just exactly what the official line will be on what to call the thing is still unclear, though I'm lobbying for "The Convention Formerly Known as Urbana." (Urbana has been in Urbana since 1948.)

The Web Team has been busy handling requests for a new Press Room and a range of content, including an MP3 interview with President Alec Hill about the move.

One of my particular contributions has been to brainstorm and register a number of new domain names suitable for the move. (Try 'em out: urbana06.org and urbana-stlouis.org, among others.) Please don't get confused with my very own stlou.org, which I've very generously offered to sell to the Urbana team — if the price is right.

Let me be the first to offer a phrase I'm sure we'll all get our fill of: "Meet me in St. Louie!"
